The Script, August 2014 - Edition 8

Hello Theatrewallah's,

August means its celebration time - Independence Day, Raksha Bandhan, Parsi New Year and Ganesh Chaturthi to name a few. Also means a lot of days free to catch up on theatre!! 

This August there is lots of stuff to look forward. NCPA's Pratibimb Festival kicks off the month with 7 new Marathi plays followed by Atul Kumar's latest offering the star studded 'Trivial Disasters'. Some favourities showing this month are Akvarious Productions'`Rafta Rafta' & `Sometimes`, Motley's `Waiting for Godot' & 'Dear Liar' and Aranya's 'Colour Blind' & 'Shakkar ke Paanch Daane'. Also check out the Theatre News section for a great new programme for theatre makers - SMART.

At QTP, we are having a busy little month. After reaching new numbers at the Prithvi Orientation - 262!!! Thespo 16 Orientation Meetings continue in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi and two in Pune. So if you know young people in those cities, please pass the word. Also, the last date for registering your full-length play is September 1st, 2013Thespo at Prithvi returns with shows and workshops and our monthly Great Text reading will happen on the 25th of August. Also, we are back in rehearsals for A Peasant of El Salvador as we tour to Cunnoor, Kochi (as part of the Hindu Metroplus Festival) and Pune.
