The Script, Edition 8 - August 2013

August is a month keenly awaited for by theatre audiences. The Parsis get excited about their annual 'Navroze' productions. And the numerous public holidays like Eid, Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan, means that more shows are scheduled than usual.

This August there is lots of new work to look forward. Primetime's `9 Parts of Desire` and Avneesh Mishra's `Teesveen Shatabdi` make their premiere. As will Le Chayim's latest offering `An Incident at the Border` directed by yours truly. NCPA's Pratibimb festival begins the month before youth theatre takes over the month. In fact for the first time ever two groups will be staging versions of  Manav Kaul's Park at different venues on the same day. The youth hit that took everyone by storm, `Baawla`, returns. Then the 'oldies' take over with regular favourites like Akvarious Productions'`A Guy Thing` and `Sometimes`, Motley's `A Walk in the Woods`, Ekjute's `Sakubai`, Le Chayim's `The Behanding at Spokane` and QTP's `Project S.T.R.I.P.`

At QTP, we are having a busy little month. Thespo 15 Orientation Meetings continue in Pune, Delhi and Ahmedabad. So if you know young people in those cities, please pass the word. Also, the last date for registering your full-length play is September 1st, 2013Thespo at Prithvi returns with shows and workshops and our monthly Great Text reading shifts to the last Tuesday only for this month - 27th of August. We are also busy with rehearsals. Our mad cap develop-mental comedy Project S.T.R.I.P. is back after 2 years, and we are about to open a brand new play `A Peasant of El Salvador` directed by Q on the 1st of September at Prithvi.
