The Script, Edition 6 - June 2013

Hello Theatre Lovers!!

June has made a theatrewala's dream entry with showers, thunder and lightning to grab your attention. The drama promises to continue through the month with new shows, a theatre festival and the last of children's plays.

Blackboards beckon, but there are still a few children's shows that need to be seen. Joy Fernandes' 'Clowns@Play', Yashwant Singh's 'Beyond Bling' and Rupesh Tillu's 'Clown Popo' play at Prithvi Theatre this month. NCPA brings back its three-day Cheer! Festival that'll feature three brand new plays by Silly Point - 'Couple of Fools', Balancing Act - '2+2' and Akvarious - 'My Romantic History'. Mahesh Dattani dons the writer and director's cap with his new play 'My Big Fat City'. There are a couple of Gujarati plays which should definitely not be missed: 'Maro Piyu Gayo Rangoon' by Sunil Shanbag and 'Karl Marx in Kalbadevi' which stars Satchit Puranik.

Also some great fav's are back - Motley brings back 'Dear Liar', Manav Kaul's 'Mamtazbhai Patangwale' and Sunil Shanbag's 'S*X, M*rality and Cens*rship'.
