Five Senses, Five Elements
Children’s theatre workshop
Children between 6-12 years of age are eligible for participation.

This workshop gets children to engage more deeply with the five senses and the five elements of nature, each day dealing with a particular sense and element. The workshop focuses on the sense of touch and the element earth, developing the children’s understanding of their own bodies, and the various factors that contribute to the welfare and destruction of the earth. Developing the child’s inner ear, sensitivity to sound and music, sense of taste through different types of food and drinks, techniques in voice modulation, sense of sight to engage children in improvisations related to the image, shadow, reflection, etc. will also be dealt with.


Shivani Tibrewala, writer-director-producer, heads the theatre group No License Yet and will conduct this workshop.

Preserving My Planet
Children’s theatre workshop
Children between 6-12 years of age are eligible for participation.

This is a unique five-day workshop designed to sensitise children to the environment through the medium of theatre and storytelling. The children will be appointed “Planet Preservers” in a solemn ceremony wherein they will be imbued with a sense of responsibility towards their planet. They will be introduced to the elements and processes of nature and various phenomena of nature. They will also learn paper crafts and the importance of recycling. On the last day, they will plant a sapling and take a pledge to care for the environment. At the end of the workshop, the kids will put up a play for their parents, which they will write, direct and produce themselves.

The Make-A-Difference (M.A.D.) Theatre Workshops

Brought to you by Poor-Box Productions – credited with The Vagina Monologues, Shirley Valentine, Art, Kissa Yoni Ka and I Am an Emotional Creature – this workshop is a must for anyone interested in theatre or who wishes to enhance their confidence and performance skills in the public and private spheres.

The workshop will also be used towards finding potential collaborators for exciting upcoming productions by Poor-Box Productions.

The Introduction to Performing Arts Workshop will focus on core performance techniques, improvisation, monologue preparation and personal writing for theatre. From movement and voice exercises to script analysis and creating a character, participants will be given the tools that are not just useful in the performing arts, but also in other public, professional and private spheres of life. Students will also work on creating their own short plays which will be performed at the end of the workshop.

The workshop will be completely hands-on, with a lot of individual attention and group work. Areas covered include theatre games, creating a role, vocal and breathing techniques, relaxation and energising, script and character analysis, movement, dance, amongst others.
