CHILDREN'S WORKSHOPS

Summer Vacations are here and it is Theatre Time for Kids! This summer is laden with fun workshops and activities for children of all age groups. Prithvi Theatre has already kick started its yearly SUMMERTIME@PRITHVI and like every year, this one also promises a great line-up of workshops for the little ones. For those around 4-5 years of age, there are theatre games, props, character building and many more fun options. The olders ones get a chance to dabble with creativity, clay and comedy too! Storytelling, imagination, acting, writing, folk tales and even science are strewn across Prithvi Theatre between April 24 and June 4 with seasoned theatre-wallahs like Salim Arif, Makarand Deshpande, Faezeh Jalali, Om Katare and many more all set to share the magic of theatre with the kids!

On the other end of the city, NCPA revels in Summer Fiesta from May 2 to June 12. NCPA also presents a variety of workshops like clowning, improv, movement, puppetry and even stand up comedy for kids! There’s also magic, photography and radio jockeying! The festival also features a lot of dance, acting and creative writing workshops for the young ones. With a host of popular theatre practitioners like Anuvab Pal, Shawn Lewis, Choiti Ghosh, Sananda Mukhopadhyaya and others, Summer Fiesta promises to be a memorable season for the children.

Also popular for its workshops and courses for the young, Raell Padamsee’s ACE Productions returns with some fantastic summer fun. Focusing on body movement, musical theatre, speech and drama, the workshops work towards confidence building and personality development. Ekjute also returns with its Young Talent Workshops, designed by Nadira Zaheer Babbar and conducted by Juuhi Babbar Sonii. The workshops will take place at six different venues across the city in May and June.

Young People’s Theatre Program (YPTP) by Theatre Professionals also adds delight to the summer with Drama Bazaar, an array of workshops at 5 different locations in the city. With workshops like ‘Acting Shmacting’, ‘Bringing Books To Life’, ‘Puppets And Masks’ and ‘Fun With Shakespeare’, YPTP’s Drama Bazaar is also something you must check out to ensure a lot of Theatre Fun for your children!
